Golf at Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort
We are delighted to be named IGTOA's Golf Resort of The Year at the IGTOA Conference & Gala Golf Awards 2023.
Here at Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort we are pleased to announce our restored and enhanced Druids Glen course and new clubhouse has re-opened, following a multi million euro investment.
The famed County Wicklow golf course, named European Golf Resort of the Year in 2005, was designed by Pat Ruddy & Tom Craddock and has undergone extensive upgrades over the past 16 months to cement its nickname the ‘Augusta of Europe’.
Whether you are staying at our luxury Wicklow hotel or visiting for the day, our two championship golf courses allow our golfing guests to enjoy varied play over equally exhilarating landscapes – both of which are renowned as being amongst the finest, most challenging and most enjoyable in Europe
Marcus Doyle, Golf Director, Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort, commented on the investment: "We wanted to take advantage of the technological advances that have emerged in the agronomical world in the past few decades. Our approach was really led by studying the impacts that nature has had, which has helped us to develop effective strategies for positively shaping the new course.”
The Druids Glen Course, is famous for hosting the Irish Open on four occasions – along with the prestigious Seve Trophy.
Druids Heath once host to the Irish PGA Championship, is known as “nature’s gift to golf” weaving its way around quarries, trees, lakes and pot bunkers. Golfers can absorb the rare heathland course, the breath-taking setting, with views over the Irish Sea, on what was once the doorstep of the ancient Druids of Ireland.
